Convergencia/Convergence: Latin American Women Artists of Houston—LAWAH
You are invited to attend a unique 60-minute “Curator Tour” about: Convergencia/Convergence: Latin American Women Artists of Houston—LAWAH on Tuesday November 26, 2019 at 4:30pm at the Glassell School of Art, MFAH.
The work of LAWAH artists will be presented by Arielle Masson, Artist/ Curator/ Senior Faculty at Glassell. LAWAH artists will also talk about their work.
The work presented in Convergencia/Convergence is as varied as the women in LAWAH (Latin American Women Artists of Houston), although two definitive trends emerge: a strong interest in the human figure, sometimes associated with a social engagement; and a deep commitment to Geometric Abstraction. This exhibition demonstrates the promised bounty of multiculturalism, worldwide, and the new dialogues enriching culture at large.
