Testimonio: Las semillas que la CAH sembró en 1975
Houston, May 2005
Dear María Inés Siccardi
Chairperson 2005, Casa Argentina de Houston,
It is no exaggeration to say that the grant I received from Casa Argentina de
Houston in 1975 marked a turning point in my career.
Thanks to the generosity of Casa Argentina de Houston, I was able to spend more
than a year traveling and photographing in Argentina and Latin America, giving
me a unique opportunity to reconnect with cultures which had made a deep and
lasting impression on me as a child. The work I did during this period
ultimately led to several other grants and commissions, among them a Fulbright
scholarship for research into Latin American photohistory which I received in
2001.
At present, I am continuing my research into Latin American photohistory,
focusing on Guatemala and Cuba. I feel sure that none of this would have
happened without the support of the Casa Argentina, and I am deeply grateful for
their encouragement and support.
Sincerely,It is no exaggeration to say that the grant I received from Casa Argentina de
